My favorite Bird and small animal sale was a huge event indeed, it was triple deep standing room only, i came home with Quail Hatching Eggs

We will see how they do, as they go into lockdown this coming weekend, i also am on a waiting list for some babies that will come once they can be sexed.

New to the farm is a mated pair of guinea fowl, they where a late hatch from last june, truly lovely birds, i look forward to teaching them to go into a custom made mobile movable pen.
There is one more set of birds that came home but they will get their own new post, they are the very first of their kind that i have added to the farm, but their wild cousins have been here and there for many years.
I was hoping to get a lovely looking rabbit but i needed to leave before they came up for sale, but i got the owners name and contact information so i will be in touch with them as some point sooner then later
I figured if i was going to run the incubator, i might as well fill it, the quail eggs will go into my small one for their hatching lockdown and the mixed laying flock with layers, dual purpose, as i do not have them in breeding groups, the egg colors from the coming hens could be cream, blue, green hued, pink rose and all shades of brown.
In keeping with fowl updates, our first sitting duck hen is firmly on her nest, and i have a chicken hen that is starting to go broody which i will allow her to sit if she desires to do so.
I was a lovely time out with Miss R and meet up with some local ladies and get a visit in, never have i come home with so few birds but i am so happy to be adding to our farm this spring, four new duck hens with new breeding lines, two new breeding pairs, hatching eggs and soon enough quail.
