Oh wow, these are fantastic shots, some twins in there I think and those dear tough wee fellas out in the snow…I am Still Waiting. What kind of sheep are these, they are gorgeous and so intelligent looking, well as intelligent as a sheep can get!! c

    • Thanks Cecilia, given how great your own photos are, that is high praise indeed. They are Katahdin Hair Sheep, they grow in a wool winter coat and the lambs are born with little wool coats but in the heat, they shed their wool out fully, so you don’t have to shear, very nice medium sized sheep with a great temperament.

no shearing! hmm.. might be good out here where it is very hot in the summer.. c

      • If you want to use your own wool, then of course it does not make a lot of sense but if you don’t, its just awesome, so much less work for me. Its the best of both worlds, hair in the summer heat and wool in the winter, and if you want to you can groom them in the spring, collect the wool, and still felt it for insulation if you want to do so, otherwise, it just can be composted as it drops on the pastures, and the birds love it for their nests.

  2. So cute! I wish ours had taken this year.
