Ok, this photo was taken by me, and then played with in a program, I love it, I can see myself getting this made into a little 5 by 7 and framed for a certain spot in the house.. so I am going to do my “painting print first” and then below it, will be the photo that I took raw š
and if you are wondering how this is farm related, well its not, but life related for sure, its important to get off the farm and into the local woods, this is something that we try and do in all season’s and I have always considered it a blessing that we are so close to so much bush land but it really hit home for me this when I was reading a favorite blog of mine, she was talking about the fact that there is no other, no wild anything in her area of the country down in the states, as we took a little country drive, I would see crops, with large area’s of wild in stripes around them, I would see tree lines around the fields, and then there are bush and creeks and more wood lots and maple tree lots, I didn’t realize until she started talking about it, that I say things like, go to the ditch line and look for x or y or z.. even in the cities and towns around me, I can find free wild food, even when I lived in the highest artic above the tree line, when the time of year was right, there was wild food for the picking, harvesting etc
So is it really any surprise that I spent a bit of time on the weekend just looking at the amazing bounty and beauty around me both on the farm and in my local neck of the woods.

LOVE your original photo! ‘Specially the cool, soft, blue-green light of the understory – White Pine and Aspen…
I am SO glad you yourself got a great camera and THANKS for sharing. Have you noticed if the ‘shrooms are popping up yet? They’re going to be early this year, if these temps keep up.
Thanks, me to, I don’t think I realized just how much I really missed having one that could do more then the one that I was getting by with..
As for Mushrooms, yes, yesterday we found two itty bitty just starting puff ball mushrooms, but with these colder temps and having rain ever second day, the fall mushrooms will be out for sure, must go do a hunt for my favorite the red brick tops, adore them, they taste like lobster, heavenly!
Ooo, they sound VERY interesting! ( Do I sense a post coming on? : )
There’s a couple of different kinds we get most often here. Have you ever had Butter Mushrooms?
Here’s a very good link for info on the Butter Mushroom – also called Slippery Jack (but only when it’s wet; ) which grows so well here, under our Red Pines… http://www.mushroomexpert.com/suillus_luteus.html
