My Grandmothers Pie Crust Recipe, one of my childhood desserts, a amazing mix of ruby red rhubarb with ripe saskatoon’s I even did my momma’s trick of a light brush of cream with sugar on top of the pie crust for that extra golden crust..
I served it up with my fresh homemade vanilla icecream made of course from Girl’s amazing cream and milk!
I have no idea what a saskatoon is, but that pie looks GREAT!
Thank you, I don’t make pie to often these days but when we found a good picking of Saskatoon’s, I made one just Saskatoon Pie and this one.. saskatoons are like a version of a high bush blueberry but with its own twist on the flavour, once you have and like saskatoons, you tend to find most blueberries, soft, flat in flavour, unless its the tiny wild ones.. they are ummm ummm good.. 🙂
It looks delicious!! Yummmm!
Oh WOW, that is one gorgeous looking dessert… Nice! Nice!! Nice!!!
Why thank you!
Swoon!
Smelling salts or would that be fresh baking smells to get you back up LOL
My salvitory glands are getting ready. I hope you will make one of those absolutely to die for pies for our visit.
Pie for sure, this kind, not as likely, I have very very limited fresh saskatoons available to me locally at this time.
