We’re expecting it tonight or tomorrow.
They say that it could continue all day and into the evening around here, we will just have to wait and see, poor DH left with a few min extra drive time but none of the roads had been done so he had to drive in more as he missed his regular bus, but said there was cars etc in the ditches, why is it that no matter how many winters folks drive in, the first snow storms everyone just forgets the rules!
No snow (yet? knock wood!) thank goodness; just the odd slushy-looking bits in the rain, but at +4C with a very cold wind, it could change easily. Same here for the trees; so fingers crossed for everybody to come out of this undamaged.
Sounds like you might get some if the CBC radio is right? Kinda glad that we had a cool week last week with fairly cold nights as I think it helped remind everything that it really was still spring. When we were in the city, as they have more “heated micro climates” we say a number of apple tree’s in full bloom, and they would have been hit hard but not hear on the farm.
Yes I’m glad those blossom buds on my apple trees decided to wait a bit to open…..
I hear you, as I said to Deb, I was surprised at how many tree’s in the city where in full bloom but things are slower out my way.. a good thing..
I’ve got plum and cherries blooming…..:(
Oh, I’m sorry to hear that, are you getting the freezing then, are they a lost cause this year, do you think you will loose your crop on those trees?
We’ve got snow, but not like you have, I guess the worst is coming tonight. The wind is crazy – that combined with my summer tires made for an interesting drive on the highway. All will not be lost with the trees, it’s only the early ones that are blooming, I’ve got other plums and cherries that are only now just getting buds. The apples have buds but I think they will get by.
Just missed us, but it’s wicked out there.
Its cold here but not bad otherwise, are you having a storm then? or just winds etc.
Lots of wind and it’s been raining for 24 hrs more or less straight, only a few brief cessations. Not quite a storm, but really nasty and I’m awfully glad I held off on some of the planting I’d planned to do. 15 miles from me there was snow this morning.
