Sheep Milk Soap “Baby” Version

Ok, So I have detailed this soap from start to finish and if it turns out to be as nice to cut, and use as it was to make, this will be a share recipe.. but for now, I give you a awesome wet soap photo..

I really hope that this soap will keep its amazing soft cream color, I like it, but it could darken.

Hey FG, even if the colour does go darker, it still looks marvellous. Love the “wavy” texture on top. šŸ˜€

    • Thanks Deb, It could darken up and still look good but love the color it is now.. I will be making a kitchen/garden coffee soap tomorrow, can’t wait, it should be awesome, they say it will work for fisherman as well, I will need to play with my “top making” but I was pleased with it as well.

SO many things to watch out for! Adding lye too quickly “burns” your ingredients?
Geez, are you going to have so much extra soap made that you’ll be “forced” to sell some? (Nudge, nudge. Wink, wink; )

      • Adding the lye to your milk to fast can burn the milk proteins and effect the color of the end product, and would of course effect the properties of the soap in the end. When you see dark, dark brown/orange goat milk soap, they either burned their milk and or added spices or colors, but if its to be pure, it was burned..

Maybe I will end up with enough extra’s to be willing to share some if folks are interested..

Looks like you’re going to need to add “soap making” to your big list of tags over here>
And maybe one for growing/making your own “critter feed” too (mealworms, sprouts, green treat cubes, mangels…) That’s how I found your blog, eh? Googling for (what the heck is a; ) “hugelbeet”

It looks good enough to eat!

    • Thanks, it sure did turn out nice and it went to trace perfectly so I am really hoping that I have a keeper recipe, Tomorrow, its a coffee kitchen/garden soap, I am keeping details and photos for you all, but it is not super fast as its make it, cut it, cure it and then try it.. not really read till six weeks of cure time and eight or more is even better.
