Hi Heather, she is rideable and we have been up on her once since she was home but she didn’t come with her tack and while I can borrow and we did for that short ride, It was not a good fit for her, it was meant for a regular size horse and she is a draft horse, so I have ordered draft tack for her, once that arrives I will for sure be out riding her, and once I have that in place, and rebuild up the horse tack fund, I will be getting her a full harness set in her size. So she will used for both riding and draft.
That sounds like so much fun. What will she be pulling? I assume that is what drafting is.

Drafting is pulling 🙂 She will have a couple different things, she will have a homemade stone boat, a sloop, a small garden plow, a small snow plow and at some point, she will have a small two seat cart..

Yes, she seems to really be enjoying the 3x 20 to 40 min training sessions, as for me, I am waiting for her Bridle/Bit/Reins to arrive and I am bidding on a really great draft 18 inch seat western saddle on ebay, I’m really new to ebay and didn’t understand that If I bid, I lost the ability to use the buy it now, if I had understood that, I would have just bought it outright but as is, it is a amazing price, two more days and hopefully it will be mine..
Had to laugh a little, as the local folks know, my Draft cow Girls nice leather black Halter has lots of shiny bling on it, so it came as no surpise to most folks that Brandy’s new gear is also very pretty with lots of silver on black leather.. Girls colors are Black, Purple and Silver, and brandy’s are Black Pink and Silver.. but its a nice dark pink, ( I draw the line at hot pink).
While I can borrow gear, its not fitting her properly, everything is just a bit to small, and I don’t think that is far to Brandy to ask her to be ridden in ill fitting gear, I would raither wait and ground work her till I have well fitted gear so that we get off on the best foot possable.
She really is lovely! Congrats on the new addition!
