Road still closed do to spring flooding..

I belong to a truly wonderful girls night out group, which I call Pie, Wine and Knit night, this ladies are so amazing, I can’t express how much I enjoy my bit if time off the farm to have adult visits, and I have a back road way that cuts almost 20 min off driving the paved route but the spring floods have all the roads closed due to our flooding..

So I had to go round to the long! way but it gave me the chance to take a photo or two for you to see just how much flooding we get, so this is the back side of the road that leads to our farm..

This is crop land and they will grow corn or soybeans in what now looks like a lake..

Holy crap where do you live? Our water levels are running high here in Toronto but nothing like that!

    • I’m in the South Nation Water Way, there are no house’s on the flood plains, this tends to happen pretty much every year, the first spring, I watched the water coming up, with horror and must have called DH at least five times at work to give him updates, we didn’t have the computer yet..

It came up to the one pasture and then stopped and slow goes back down, once I could talk to farmer R, I found out that this is normal and that my farm to date had never had water come further then that field.. so far, this has proven to be true.. but the waterways and the spring floods sure do give us some amazing growing ability for the rest of the season.
