It’s like a gem! This year there are so many beautiful sunset postings all over the world! We got Northern Lights 3 nights ago but the clouds have moved back in. Check it out: https://www.facebook.com/675382082491482/photos/pcb.966155090080845/966154856747535/?type=1&theater

    • We had the most clear night last night, perfect for cracking out the telescope.. just awesome but no northern lights.

My problem is staying awake. I’m usually in bed by 9:00 P.M. Haven’t seen a New Year’s firework for years! You might like trying to find a site “Aurora Notifications” for your area. I checked around after I posted to you and Facebook has a site for my area. My husband gets notifications on his computer when the space station is crossing us. We’ve seen it many times but it’s usually in the summer just after 5:00 A.M. when the sun is rising in the east and it reflects off of it. So weird to think that people are actually living aboard it.

      • thanks, both hubby and I are members of the local sky watch and they send great updates, its very handy.. can I let you in on a secret, once you have seen the northern lights way way up north, they dance so big you think you can just reach up and touch them, and the colors, o the colors.. I still like Ontario northern lights but o those artic ones are hard to beat..

Amen! I remember the first time I saw them in Montana,. Being new to the north country from California, I kept thinking someone was driving up my road! I had to look “up”!

For about a month I was out hunting late every afternoon until sunset. Doing that everyday causes you to notice when the daytime start getting slightly longer. It makes me happy.
