Thanks for stopping by, some of you I have seen in the past little while, and others, well its been a bit since I heard from you..
Come on in, those roads were wild to get here.. can you believe it? another six plus inches of fresh snow coming down, and they say more is on the way.. Its been a wild winter, lots of cold, lots of snow.. could be good for the land and gardens, as long as we don’t lose to many things from the overwintering.
Used to be paths all over the place, but not anymore, the snow has filled them all in.. Why yes, you are right the horses are pretty in the snow..
How is Brandy, she is still a bit lame but can already see such a improvement since her trim and treatments have started.. but I don’t think she will be ready by spring for my planned horse trip.. Think I am going to take sam, it should be a lot of fun, its a girls only weekend and we are heading out to a horse camp ground in the hills, we are getting a little cabin with its own corral for the horses.
Come in, come in.. just knock the snow off and grab a pair of the wool slippers, there are all sizes from adults to kids of the wall, dogs back, get back, quiet, Quiet!.. GET down.. go lay down, please don’t pet them till they settle and sit nicely.. I mean it.. Git! Go lay down!
The smell, well that’s the Apricot Almond Buns baking for our treat with our tea, its my mom’s recipes, can’t make it quite right anymore because I don’t like to use corn syrup but its still pretty close, and its darn yummy.
Ah, thanks, I love my teapots, figured it would be nice to have bright and cheerful one, afterall , I don’t get much company on the farm, yes, those are peppers that are starting, o, that’s great that you have started yours already, no, I haven’t tried the baggy method myself, I have heard good things about it.. do let me know how it works out for you..
Ah, that’s better, the hounds have settled, are you sure you are ok that the kitty is in your lap.. ok, I will let you make that choice 🙂 she will stay the whole time you know..
So tell me.. how are you today?

Love this post 🙂 It’s raining in Nova Scotia and our dirt road is now an ice road. Hoping it clears up before we want to go out tomorrow. Our pups are napping. I’ll put on the kettle and have a virtual tea with you.
So nice to see you at tea today Steph 🙂 Hope you road is better by tomorrow..
It’s bright and sunny here in BC right now. It’s been raining quite a bit this week, but I am not complaining, it has been so dry here this winter! We have only shovelled snow once, which just feels wrong. Things are pretty good here. I am going to plant some seeds this week and try some of the ideas I found on the ‘winter sown” website, no harm in trying some things early! I have joined a worm farming group too, so my worms are a lot happier using their hints and tips. I did a ton of cooking last night, went to bed really late, but we now have lots of yummy things for Leo to take to work and several things to take to my friend whose husband is nearly sick. He’s not eating much due to chemo, but apparently was requesting the chicken and dumplings I had sent one time before! Well, whatever that man wants, he can have right now. It also means dinner for tonight is already done and just needs heating up.
The dog has a had a less awesome week. He somehow managed to break a small front tooth. Fortunately it doesn’t seem to be bothering him, but he has to go get it removed on the 27th. Weirdly it’s dog health month in February so we get 20% off LOL. He has beautiful teeth, I am very unhappy he broke one. My laptop keyboard is also broken, I now have no “k” and no “I”. I am typing this on a usb keyboard balanced on top of the laptop LOL. Maybe it will encourage me to spend less time on the computer.
Today I am going to go for a coffee with my son whilst my husband sleeps after his night shift and will hopefully finish the afghan I have been working on for days now. I am sick of it, but nearly there. Over the weekend I am going to meet with someone who needs some paid help to get their daughter to school in the mornings a few days a week, as she has special needs and Mom is taking different hours at work. I hope they like me, it would be good to work with someone again.
So that’s my news, kids are off school today for some unknown reason, they seem to be hardly ever there. This means I wont be getting much done here :-). It’s been nice to see you, but I’d best get one . Take care, Nic ( queen of string).
Lovely having tea with you today Queen.. so much on the go, it was so nice to catch up.. you have been very busy indeed.
We are drinking hot tea here as well. My pot isn’t nearly as cute as yours! We had 80 mph gust of wind last night. Long sleepless night! Today it has died down to about 20mph and we are lazily going about our day. We are in for another dangerously windy night…wish the kids were still very little and we could all take a nap. :-). Thanks for the tea!
Ah, naps, they are such wonderful things, crazy winds this winter, we all seem to be taking turns at having really high ones.. What does your teapot look like 🙂
It is a “regular” round teapot shape, off-white, with dark red apples on brown branches, and with some green leaves. The handle looks like the branches, and the lid handle is a ball that is brown like the branches.
I also have one similar to yours except instead of a cat it is a lady with an apron. But it is an old family heirloom and has some surface cracks on the interior from use, so I never use it, it is a decoration.
Glad we are having tea today. I am very much enjoying it and laughing. Don’t forget I like Earl Grey with honey! Must have been a full moon last night – a crazy day.
Earl Grey and honey, sounds just lovely.. Thank for coming for tea today and laughs are always a very good thing.
Your tea bread looks SO decadent – LOVE the idea of orange and cream cheese icing with apricot filling – and I think a cup of Earl Grey (just clear for me please; ) would make a wonderful combo. It was lovely of you to ask us to drop by! The storm has stayed east of us so far (but looks like it’s coming closer, now that I check out the kitchen window): Truly though, we could use a few more snowless days… What a Winter this has been!!
Glad to hear that Brandy’s healing: )
Lovely a tea party. Sorry to be so late in arriving. I will have the Early Grey as well if there is any left. I started drinking it years ago as Captain Picard was so very fond of it. I take honey as well. I haven’t got a tea pot at all, or a kettle. Ours sprung a leak a while back and I haven’t replaced it. I just heat up water in the microwave one cup at a time. The kiddo’s have gone to bed now and a cup of tea sounds great. I haven’t started any peppers yet. I have some seeds saved from green and yellow bell peppers I grew last year. I’ll get them going in a week or so. I’m excited this is the first time I will start something inside instead of just planting it right in the ground or buying a seedling at the store.
