She seems to be growing so much faster then either of the bucket calves did and she had been raised with no grains, just mommy’s milk, pasture and hay..

Milk is an amazing thing! My ewes got milked once a day, but I let the lambs have the milk during the day for several months (longer than recommended since I didn’t want to do TWICE a day milking!) They grew big, fat and healthy. Alas, the bottle baby who got milk for 2 months is puny compared to the other lambs. The piglets all got weans “late” too and their growth was phenomenal until they got weaned. Why on earth do so many animal operations wean so early?! You get such better growth and health when babies get milk!

Big bum maybe, but WOW, what a coat! FABulous: )
And a calf that does well on mother’s milk and fresh pasture… Can you imagine? (LMAO; )

Wow, the shine on the horse’s coat is gorgeous.

There is a huge difference in animals raised longer on milk. I’ve seen it with the rabbits. They have some sometimes at the feed store who have been weaned at four weeks or six weeks and there is no comparison to those guys at 8 weeks and mine who get weaned at 8 weeks. I imagine the scale is much bigger with calves.
