Got Milk, Girl does.. I was doing my check, afternoon feeding and as she was up this time, I did my touch, check, her bag is even bigger and fuller then before, and I did my regular teat milk motion(its a practise thing I have been doing since she was a young calf) and out comes milk on the first try.. I stopped right there, and gently touched the other three teats and didn’t milk them..
So if she has milk, how far can the calf be behind
At this point, I will take dibs on when this calf is coming!

This saturday! I bet a girl calf too. 🙂
Monkey says Girl’s calf will come on Saturday – he wants to share his b-day.
well, that’s a great reason monkey!
given that I am seeing clear slow but steady contractions, I am going to say tomorrow but that could be wishful thinking..
An excerpt from “Cattle Today” forum…
“If I see the cow getting up and down repeatedly, straining/pushing while lying down, smelling the ground where she was just lying, etc., THEN I’ll say “She’s in labor, and a calf oughta be arriving in short order’. But a noticeable rumen or abdominal contraction in a cow standing or lying around comfortably don’t qualify as impending delivery.”
