Elvis??

Well, I am 99.9 percent sure that Pippin’s aka Elvis owners have been found, and if all goes as planned he will be heading back to them tomorrow.

It appears that he is not in fact a mini horse, but in fact a very! young pony, who was quite scared after his trip home and broke out (I can agree that he is certianly able to do that) and took off.

I am quite amazed at just how far he came from where he left that day to where he was found, but there is paperwork, correct date of when missing/found, and I had a hold back question and a red herring that I had put out on the blog/facebook and the gentleman was easily able to correct me on it, when I asked about it. as well as photos on his phone from when he bought the pony to show me tomorrow.

So, SO glad that his owners have been found, just wonderful, I just wish that it had been a week or two ago before I finally named him and starting bonding.. sigh..

Give myself a shake..

Enough of that.. hope everything goes smooth tomorrow and I am so glad that he is going back to a home that wants him for many years to come.

  1. What a surprise ending to the story of Pippen/Elvis! Sort of bittersweet, eh?

Well I’m sorry, but that truly sucks!!
And Elvis? REALLY?!? Nu-uh, like you said, he responded to the “P” sound and Pippin suits the little guy SO much… Maybe you could let them know what you’ve been calling him? After all, they don’t need to know how long you’ve been calling him that, do they? All that matters is that he’s been responding to it, right? Poor little guy’s going to be SO confused. Sure hope they’ve got some company for him.
    So sorry FG!! HUGS! D.

    • I know Deb, I kmow..

But there is no point dwelling on the things we can not change, and they truly seemed very excited to have found him.. They have not had time to get to know him or to bond, so in a way this is a new home for the wee little guy again..

‘Zactly! That’s why I think they should leave his name as Pippin…
I mean, he has he been responding to “Pippin”, right? So, you’ll let them know so he’ll have at least one thing in his life that doesn’t change? Geez, I think I’m gonna cry ):

      • Already did the crying now twice..and I imagine that I will again off and on for the next bit, While I do think this is his owner, and I fully! support him going back to them, I am unhappy that it appears that he was weaned VERY young from his momma, and then sold to them, he is just a wee babe in age..

Suddenly all the time’s I thought, boy are you a little slow there buddy, now I feel so bad, because he is just a little colt, and really he did amazing in my training, I am SO freakin glad that I never asked him to pull anything now, it was all just light gear training only.

They are not planning on using his “pippen” name, they made that clear, the granchild he was got for got to name him, they do have a second pony to keep him company, as the Elvis is for the grandson and the other pony is his granddaughters.

No wonder Brandy asks all gentle and motherly to him, like she does to the baby lambs or the sheep, I thought it was size, and that they had just really bonded, but I think now it was more that she understood better then me that he was so young and needed that mom figure..

Well, I think that whoever owned(s) his dam needs a good, solid kick in the pants (at the very least!) Grrrr!!! So very, very sad!
Good luck today. Give him a nuzzle for me?

I suppose that we should all be excited for the people who had though he was gone forever… perhaps they’ll send updates. What ever will the sheep do for excitement now? I am sorry though but there is all sorts of good karma coming your way for stepping up to the plate and caring for him.

    • I don’t think I can bring myself to be excited at this point, I would have before I named him and really started to bond with him, but right now, I am very mixed emotionally, Happy because it was clear on the phone visit that there are 3 generations in the family that are SO excited that he has been found and that he is safe and sound and healthy and been loved, because they have been fearing that either a) he was killed and eaten by the coy-wolvies, or b) that he was found and sold for profit.

When I see it from their way on that, I can just imagine the worry and now how releived they are with the good news. I doubt that I will get updates but I can ask, and if Farmer T is right on where they live(she seems pretty sure, she knows where) I can at least drive by and check on him in the pasture.. as they place is right off a road..
