I miss my Garden..

Store bought veggies can’t hold a candle to home grown .. I miss my fresh veggies!

Note to self, eight plants all coming ready at the same time is to much for our little family, so next year, I will start 4 plants every two weeks to be transplanted out from spring to late summer for crops coming due for almost five months..

The birds and rabbits liked the greens very much, so other then putting the roots in the compost pile this whole plant is useable on the farm, I took the stalk and cut into inch size peices and dried them, and then add a couple into my stock pot once a week.

Went looking for fresh chick weed, or string nettle and the hard frosts have got them.. but on the other hand, will be digging up my burdock this week, and will share the process and recipes for you all..

I’m curiours about your stock pot? Are you tending to some kind of eternal soup?

    • Hi Dreamfarming.. I sent your note about the short story off to Dh, I am sure he will be happy to hear that you liked it, there are few more short stories of his posted under the writing link if you had not already found them.

As for the stock pot, no, it not a eternal soup, but once or twice a week on average I make my own stock that then gets put in the fridge, pressure canned or frozen depending, I just like to use up all the odds and ends up to make a homemade stock raither then buying from the store.
