Apple Sauce Cake
- Half cup of Lard
- 1 cup of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup unsweetened apple sauce
- 1 cup of raisins
- 1 tsp clove
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/4 cup of water
- 1 tbsp. baking powder
- 2 cups of flour
Bake 350 for 40 min ,till a knife come out clean.. With as much clove as it has and no cinnamon, its a different taste them most modern Apple Sauce Cakes.

Thank you thank you thank you!!! I think I mentioned at one time my sorrow at having lost my late Mother In Law’s recipe for Crumb Cake (which was made with goose grease from the Christmas goose) and this has the taste I remember.
