Oh, isn’t he gorgeous?!! Good job of getting him to sit still long enough to get these!
Did he scold you while you were there? (They’re such a saucy bird: ) LOVE Orioles, thanks for sharing!!

    • He is so pretty! I have never had one come to the farm before, so felt really blessed to not just see and watch him but to get his photo 🙂

      Nope, no scolding..

Well, hopefully “he” has a “she” and they’re moving in, not just passing by. Funny though, I was just listening to “our” chatty fellow in the back hedgerow yesterday (and I’m pretty sure I caught a glimpse of him bouncing around in the cherry tree the other day too (for such a colourful fellow, he can be quite sneaky; ) Good luck with future sightings – and be sure to keep your ears open – as he’s sure to make you smile: )

      • as lovely as they are, hope they just pass by, my farm cats are really hard on the yard birds and their wee ones, but I need them to keep the mice, moles and rats down..

Trust me, Orioles are NOT like Robins. There was nesting pair at the Farm every year when I was a kid and although he chattered and sang high in the maple canopy daily, I always considered myself lucky to catch even a glimpse of the adults, but never once did I see a fledgling – ever.
They ARE secretive enough to be your neighbour without your knowledge and, when the leaves drop, only then will you finally be able to see their amazing suspended nest.
