I could not help but feel the need to share the difference between the food forest meadow violets and the garden violets.

The really important thing to remember is that the garden violets were the same size as the wild violets when I moved them from the wild to the garden five years ago.

I am going to be moving more of the wild ones into the garden if for nothing else ease of picking and the fact that I really enjoy them in the garden as does the bee’s.

For the ability to harvest and use, clearly having a dozen or two of the ones in the garden is going to make your life a lot easier then wading though the pastures for the tiny, tiny ones, the only reason they are as open and easy to find this year, is because I have allowed the horse to be the lawn mower, which has increased the sun available to the wild strawberries, the dandelions and the wild violets.
