They’re all over the place around here too!
Isn’t it funny how they always seem to know when they’re out of season? Guess the reason some of us “higher” beings call animals “dumb” would be because they don’t speak? (English, that is; )
I actually that *was* why they’re called “dumb beasts” – not because they’re stupid, but because they’re “dumb”, ie., unable to speak. 🙂
Unfortunately the subtlety is almost lost on current generations…
We’ve seen wild turkeys on the farm next door. The top picture looks like a Robert Bateman style painting…so beautiful!
