Spiced Rose – pinecones, spices, rose petals
Such a fun mothers day project for the spring plant sale and farmgate sales, i am working on a number of different types but they all have a few things in common, wax and pinecones!

The very base is two pinecones, one used as a natural base to hold the waxed candle cord, i researched and looked at the wooden wick and if i had been able to use beeswax i understand it would have worked well, and while i love the idea of making smaller ones in beeswax, these are being made with organic soy wax and the wooded wicks don’t do well in them and need to be doubled for best results, where these are perfect for fitting in the cones.
I am using a plain white paper cupcake in a cupcake baking tin, and then comes the fun part, planning, gathering, drying different things to add to them.

On top of the pinecones, i do two layers one that sinks in the hot wax and one that gets added as it starts to cool enough to hold things on the top of it but still warm enough to make it part of the fire starter wax cupcake. The above are Dried orange with Cedar and whole cloves, it called Mulled Wine

Above you can see Spiced Rose but also Pinecone Explosion, which has three or even four pinecones in it, plus Spices, Clover Blossoms, Roses and Dried High Bush Cranberry Crumbles
I have a few more to do yet but i am truly excited to add these to the market table to be sold as single, double or packs of four, I love a good backyard or camping trip fire and these will go along way to helping them get started..
These type of wax fire starters should not be used in gas or propane fire places, and there is a lot of mixed answers on their use in wood stoves, but everyone agrees for a outdoor fire, its a 100 percent yes!
