So, I have worked the hide a couple times more, scraping, salting and allowing it to cure while also working it over the bending board.. then it got a light sanding and has now been egg-yolked down, once that step is done.. I just have smoking it and trimming left before I can begin using it for its final project. So here is the set of photos again from begin to where I am at so far..

Okay, so what does the egg do? Some sort of a softening seal?
It’s the fat/softening, it replaces using the brains in this step.
And it’s just …. rub beaten egg yolk in? Leave it how long?
depending on the person six to 36 hours, i say 12 is about right..yup, well beaten egg yolk, if you get any bits of white left and find them while rubbing, just remove off

Sorry, just kidding! Obviously brain material is quite rich so would help the skin stay supple and prevent it from drying out?
yes, that is correct on the adding fat and working, it creates the needed break down/transformation of the fibers to be stretched afterwards, you will see, i will take photos
