Nice, I have been looking here, but have not found any at all yet.
I’ve been too sick to go foraging yet this spring and I’m so anxious that I’m missing things because everything is early!
Not up here yet, I have been looking :-). Is there a special trick to getting the papery covering off, seems to be something that takes me ages!
As the blasted blog won’t let me answer the post the proper way, I will do it this way and hope it works.. I know I was so surprised it was up as well, I had looked on the weekend walk an hour away and nothing, i mean I could see the plant starts but not even close to being ready to come up, and normally, it does not happen around here till May, which is why I was so surprised to see that they were up in one area where I take the hounds for a walk..
I will get out to a few other area’s but I expect given that they are more shaded/sheltered they might not be as far along, or at least typically they are behind this site.. still I wonder if the dryness of the air is effecting it as well..
No tricks for getting that off, its just a slow process but its worth it 🙂
A question on Jeopardy the other night in the category of food asked for another name for peacock fern. The answer? Fiddleheads!
